What Did You Make Of The First Episode Of The New Series Of Top Gear?
I was actually going to post the article about the British GT that I attended at Knockhill. Instead, I’ve decided to have a quick look at the First episode of the new series of Top Gear that was shown on BBC2 tonight - not least because I’m sure that if you’re here then you probably saw it too.
Whilst the race was legendary (the Vincent Black Shadow, the Jaguar XK120 and old coal-powered train were awesome), I’ve no doubt it was the revelation that Schuey is The Stig that will sprout the most amount of trolling and rumours amongst those so disposed on the net. So, is Michael Schumacher actually The Stig? Well, who can say. I’m sure he’s a very busy man. However, he more than has the talent to put in the kind of lap times that are featured on the board. He remains a contender (in the credits, it listed The Stig separately).
What about the rest of the show? Well, it was great to see the Lotus Evora in action. It looks like one of the most controllable cars on the road. The news was of course funny, with a mention of the Dacia Sandero. The three lads remain legends in their own right, but much respect for Clarkson for getting on board an old steamer and being a stoker man for a good few hours. He deserved every mouthful of that beer afterwards.
Overall, I’d say the First episode of this series was nothing short of brilliant. Keep up the good work May, Hammond and Clarkson!
